Owl Story Time (2017)

This was my last story time in our temporary location! We should be moving sometime in January. Very exciting!

Welcome Song: Clap and Sing Hello (to the tune of The Farmer in the Dell)
We clap and sing hello,
We clap and sing hello,
With our friends at story time,
We clap and sing hello!
We wave and sing hello // We stomp and sing hello

Pop, pop, pop the bubbles,
Ten little bubbles go POP! (clap over head)

Book: Bear’s New Friend by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman

Bear hears a strange noise and wonders “who” it is. Yes, this is a summer book but any excuse to use a bear book …

Flannel: Five Little Owls
Five little owls sat underneath the moon.
But five little owls will be leaving soon!
Five little owls, are you keeping score?
One flies away and that leaves four.
Four little owls sitting in a tree,
One flies away and that leaves three.
Three little owls calling, “Whoo, whoo, whoo!”
One flies away and that leaves two.
Two little owls having lots of fun,
One flies away and that leaves one.
One little owl and we’re almost done!
He flies away and that leaves none.

Book: I’m Not Cute by Jonathan Allen

im-not-cute-by-allen

Little Owl is NOT cute! He is a fierce flying machine! So why does everyone want to give him a hug? This is one of favorite books to read at story time. Unfortunately I had a coughing jag in the middle of it and I could barely squeak the words out. *sigh*

Egg Shakers: Shake It by Sally’s Music Circle
