Dance Story Time

Dance, Rattle & Roll — (Winter 2019 Session 1)

Our first dance story time of the year! We had 79 wonderful people and had a blast!

I usually put the slideshow of my slides here but WordPress has changed to some sort of awful block format and I HATE it. It used to be nice and user friendly and now it’s super complicated and I can’t figure out how to post a slideshow, just each image individually. So here that is. I created the slides in Canva. And I give some detail about the parachute play at the bottom.

PARACHUTE

Song: Row Row Row Your Boat
I do three verses of this classic:
Row row row your boat (the traditional way) //
Rock rock rock your boat, sway from side to side
Merrily merrily merrily merrily what a bumpy ride (bump hands on lap) //
Row row row your boat, gently down the stream
If you see a crocodile (crocodile snap with arms)
Don’t forget to scream (*AH*)

On our last verse where we see a crocodile and scream we lifted the parachute over our heads and screamed underneath of it.

Song: The Grand Old Duke of York

Song: Colors (to the tune of Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes)
Pink, orange, green and blue, green and blue,
Pink, orange, green and blue, green and blue,
Oh, I see colors, how about you?
Pink, orange, green and blue, green and blue.

Song: Popcorn by Barenaked Ladies

We stood up and shook the parachute together faster and faster for Popcorn.

Song: Round & Round by Bobs & Lolo

Then I let the kids run under the parachute and the adults and I did some fun stuff with the parachute over their heads.

When we were done, the adults and I counted to three. I had them all let go and I gathered up the parachute.
