Book: Bear Can’t Sleep by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman

Bear and his friends are trying everything: counting sheep; a cup of hot tea; a big, cozy fire … but Bear just can’t get to sleep! I usually read Bear Snores On for Bear Story Time but I decided to change it up this year and read this newer title. It was nice because I don’t think some of the kids had read it before. It’s always nice to introduce a new Bear book to them.

Flannel Board: Five Little Bears
Five little bears heard a loud roar,
One ran away and now there are four.
Four little bears climbing up a tree,
One slid down and now there are three.
Three little bears deciding what to do,
One fell asleep and now there are two.
Two little bears having lots of fun,

Rhyming book about a cranky bear whose nap gets disturbed by zebra, lion, moose, and sheep. What can they do to make him feel better? One of my story time favorites!
