With our friends at story time,
We clap and sing hello!

Book: Barnacle is Bored by Jonathan Fenske

Barnacle is bored. Every day is the same. He wishes he could be as free as a fish he sees swimming in the water. But then a bigger fish comes along … maybe he’s not so bored after all! This was my first time reading this one and I really liked it. The ending got a good laugh.

Song: The Fish in the Sea … (to the tune of The Wheels on the Bus)
The fish in the sea go swish, swish, swish, (swim hands)
Swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish,
The fish in the sea go swish, swish, swish,
All day long.

The dolphins in the sea go round and round (move arm around and around) //
The sand in the sea drifts down, down, down (flutter fingers down) //
The waves on the sea go up and down (arms up and down)

I usually do this song with scarves but I didn’t want to get into the whole thing with COVID lurking so we just used our hands this time.

Recorded Song: The Goldfish — Laurie Berkner Band

Book: Hooray for Fish by Lucy Cousins

Short, colorful book about all the different creatures in Little Fish’s world.

Goodbye Song: It’s Time To Say Goodbye to All Our Friends
It’s time to say goodbye to all our friends, (tap knees)
Goodbye!
It’s time to say goodbye to all our friends,
Goodbye!
It’s time to say goodbye …
Wave your hands and wink your eye!
Oh, it’s time to say goodbye to all our friends,
Goodbye! (wave)
